Australian Development Alliance for Nepal (ADAN) is a voluntary, non sectarian, apolitical, ADAN values the roles of experts, academia and emerging businesses from varied communities, social organisations and people in general. ADAN's main initiative is to provide assistance and support to the people in rural Nepal who live without the basic minimum services due to lack of infrastructure, skilled manpower and supplies. We believe in quality not quantity. All interventions will be relevant to the needs, feasible and on time. Are you interested to support Janajyoti School Library Project ??? Janajyoti Higher Secondary School is located in Dhupoo Village Development Committee in the lap of beautiful Mt Makalu of far eastern hilly district Sankhuwa Sabha, about 500 km north east from the capital city Kathmandu. Currently, school provides education to about 700 students from about six different villages with various ethnic backgrounds in the district. Some students have to walk about two hours a day to come to the school due to difficult terrain and poor transportation service. Moreover, school severely lacks basic minimum services such as school library. Currently, school teachers and students rely on the only available text books without access to basic reference books, database and electronic journals. ADAN will work with Janajyoti School Management Committee to a) set up a functioning library with basic reference books, display racks and three computers with, b) internet access to school teachers and students and c) basic training to school staff on library management. All the donations collected will be spent to set up and run the library service effectively. None of the donations will be used by ADAN as there is no administrative cost and organization runs on a voluntary basis. A contractual agreement between ADAN and school management committee will be executed to implement this project. Progress report will be made public at adan.org.au upon completion of the work. Further information about ADAN can be accessed in the website. Further queries on this initiative can be made to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
